Hair straighteners that add extra shine cut from £80 to £20 – shoppers say ‘better than GHD' and leave 25k rave reviews

BEAUTY fans have been racing to buy a pair of popular hair straighteners reduced by 75% in the Amazon Prime Day sale. The Remington styler has been described as "better than GHD's", and it's down from £79.99 to just £19.66. Remington Shine Therapy Hair Straighteners, £19.66 (was £79.99) BUY HERE Designed to add shine to the hair while styling, the tool's Ceramic coated plates are infused with Moroccan Argan Oil and Vitamin E. Remington's Shine Therapy Straighteners have a digital display with nine temperature settings between 150-230 degrees. It's rare for a straightener to have so many heat settings, but the adjustable feature makes it suitable for all hair types. The auto-shut off feature turns the styler off after 60 minutes for safety, and it takes 15 seconds to heat back up. You can also read our tried-and-tested roundup of the best hair straighteners if you're undecided on the best model to choose. The beauty tech tool is one of the most affordable straighteners on the market right now with the Amazon Prime Day discount, with the added bonus that Remington's model gives the hair added shine. Remington Shine Therapy Hair Straighteners, £19.66 (was £79.99) It's received over 5,000 five-star reviews on the Amazon website. One shopper wrote: "Best straighteners ever! I got these yesterday, washed my hair last night and used these and I am so impressed! My hair is really thick and nothing ever really straightens it, I usually have to get my hair blown-out by the hairdresser if I want to wear my hair down, but with these I am able to wear my hair down as they are just fab." Another added: "I've used GHD wide-plate straighteners on my thick, naturally curly hair on and off since they came out. I was dubious about these, despite the rave reviews, but I ordered some and boy am I delighted I did! They're fantastic, I'd go so far as to say better than my ageing GHD. They glide through my hair, so smoothly, I'm still experimenting with getting the lowest (adjustable) heat setting to do the job, but either way, they still do an amazing job at a much lower fixed temp than the GHDs." There are some incredible beauty deals live in the Amazon Prime Day sale, particularly across haircare. Along with Remington's Shine Therapy Straighteners, there's big discounts on other bring brands including Dyson and Shark. Shark's SmoothStyle hot brush has been slashed to its lowest ever price of £49.49, while the iconic Dyson Airwrap I.D has dropped by £80 in the flash sale. Amazon Prime Day sale live updates page. It's the final day of the Amazon mega sale, so it's the last chance to shop the items in your basket before they increase in price.

Prime Day Deal: We Love Lorex's Indoor Security Cameras, Especially Up to 29% Off

Whether you're watching your dogs or just for general security, it's not a bad idea to have an indoor security camera to keep an eye on your house even when you're not there. Amazon Prime Day is a great time to shop for electronics in general, as a lot of stuff, including home security, goes on sale. A good example of that is a trio of indoor cameras from Lorex, which are on sale for up to 29% off. Let's break down each deal. The brand's 4MP Pan & Tilt model is 29% off with a $57 sticker price, its 2K Dual Lens Indoor Camera is 20% off at $80 and the regular Lorex 2K Indoor Camera is also 20% off with a price of $48. All three of these deals are pretty good, and it mostly matters which camera fits best with your lifestyle. Some of the more expensive multi-camera bundles were also on sale, but the sales seem to have ceased as of this writing. Even so, the links are here and here if you want to check back later to see if they go up again. The deals are also available via Lorex directly if you prefer to shop from them. All three of the indoor cameras do mostly the same thing in slightly different ways. The most basic model is the $48 one, which is a set-it-and-forget-it type of camera. You can view what's happening on camera and two-way talk with people at the other end of the connection, but it doesn't move or do anything fancy. There is an IR night vision mode in case you need to check things out in the dark. Moving up, the Pan & Tilt model is the next option. It does what the first one does, but adds a pan and tilt function that lets you look around the room into any hidden corners. Finally, the Dual Lens version adds 360 degrees of rotation on the main camera while the second camera stays pointing forward, giving you maximum viewing. We're fans of Lorex here at CNET, and the brand is even listed on our best security cameras list, albeit their more expensive 4K model. The budget models are still great for checking in on pets for security purposes. We just like 4K a little more. In any case, Lorex cameras all share one function that we absolutely adore, and that is the option for local storage. You can pop a microSD in so you can record video, which allows you to skip having a subscription entirely. So, you get a camera at a discounted price and there isn't a nasty subscription hiding in the fine print here. If you're wondering which one we'd recommend, the dual camera option with 360 degrees of movement for $80 is hard to beat. Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money. Home security was a $35 billion industry in 2024, and it's expected to only grow over the next few years. These Lorex cameras are nice, basic solutions that can get your foot in the door. However, if you're wanting something with more features, we recommend checking out our best home security cameras list, where we go over indoor and outdoor cameras from a variety of manufacturers to give you full coverage inside and out. Best July Prime Day Deals 2025 CNET's team of shopping experts have explored thousands of deals on everything from TVs and outdoor furniture to phone accessories and everyday essentials so you can shop the best Prime Day deals in one place. See Now Why this deal matters Virtually every Prime Day is a smorgasbord of tech deals, so you've likely seen a dozen or more security cameras on sale already. What makes Lorex a good option is its blend of being generally inexpensive while also allowing you to skip the subscriptions by using local storage. Most cheaper indoor cameras require a subscription, so opting for Lorex can save you the cost of itself over the long term when factoring in subscriptions you're not buying. The cameras come with enough storage for a month, but if you want more, there are a ton of microSD cards on sale for Prime Day as well.
